Dr. Burjonroppa joined Fort Worth Heart in Feb, 2010. He comes to Fort Worth from University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX where he served as the Assistant program director of the interventional cardiology fellowship program and Assistant professor of medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine.
He was recognized at the ACC annual convocation held earlier this year in New Orleans (March 2011) with the Young Author achievement award and was presented a plaque at the JACC editors meeting.
His manuscript was published in the prestigious JACC interventions. He is actively involved in research and is involved in bringing state of the art treatment to the community in Fort Worth. In keeping with this he was invited as faculty in the recently concluded Dallas Transradial Summit. He has presented numerous abstracts at national and international meetings.
He trained at the University of California San Francisco for his interventional cardiology and at University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for his general cardiology. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, interventional Cardiology, vascular medicine, endovascular medicine, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.

This procedure where left heart catheterization is performed through the radial artery is thought to be beneficial in reducing bleeding complications and reduce patient discomfort in recent studies presented at the American College of Cardiology meeting in New Orleans.
